Often, yes. Spring, cable, roller, sensor and most opener repairs use parts I carry on the truck, so they can usually be finished in one visit. Whether that visit is today depends on the schedule, so call and ask.
What can be fixed same-day (and typical timing once the technician arrives):
Spring replacement: 60-90 min. Both standard and high-cycle springs in stock for 8x7, 9x7, and 16x7 doors.
Cable replacement: 45-60 min. Replaced in pairs to maintain balance.
Roller replacement: 45-60 min. Silent nylon rollers in stock for 7-foot, 8-foot, and 10-foot tracks.
Sensor realignment + replacement: 30-45 min. Compatible with every major opener brand (LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Wayne Dalton).
Opener replacement: 2-4 hours. Belt-drive, chain-drive, and jackshaft units in stock.
Track realignment: 60-90 min. For minor track damage. Severe damage may require panel replacement (see below).
Off-track repair: 1-2 hours. Door re-tracked, rollers replaced, hardware re-set.
What may NOT be same-day:
Panel replacement on doors older than 8 years: many manufacturer parts have been discontinued. We can usually source replacement panels in 3-7 days, or recommend a full door replacement if cost-effective.
Custom-color or carriage-house door installation: special-order doors take 5-15 business days to manufacture.
Full door installation (standard insulated steel): we can sometimes do this same-day if a stock door fits the rough opening, but most installations are scheduled 2-5 days out.
How to maximize your same-day chances:
Call as early in the day as you can. I take calls 7am to 7pm, seven days a week.
Have ready: door measurements (width × height), opener brand and approximate age, photos of any visible damage. Even cell-phone photos help us load the right parts on the truck.
Mention if it's an emergency (a door stuck open is a security issue) so I can tell you straight how soon I can get there.
