What drives the price:
Spring type. Torsion springs (mounted above the door) cost more than older extension springs but last 2-3x as long and are safer to operate. High-cycle torsion springs (25,000+ cycles, double the standard 10,000-cycle lifespan) add $30-$60 to the job but pay for themselves within 5-7 years.
Door size. Residential single-car doors (8x7, 9x7) use lighter springs and cost less. Double-wide doors (16x7) require heavier-gauge springs that cost more in materials. Oversize and commercial doors price separately.
One spring or both. If only one of two springs has snapped, we strongly recommend replacing both. They're paired for balance and the second is usually within months of failing. Doing both at once costs $80-$120 less than two separate service calls.
